Trapped in the Closet UPDATE !

TrappedintheClosetDVDWell, with my recent acquisition of Trapped in the Closet through Netflix, I am complete. I have now seen all 12 glorious chapters of the amazing hip-hopera. Pure genius. R. Kelly himself said that Trapped in the Closet will be around for a long time (he thinks it will even outlast him). I, myself, find it impossible to ever forget it.

As soon as we got the DVD in the mail, Joanne and I sat down and watched it (Joanne wasn't too happy about it). It wasn't long before I was able to see someone who was cheating on someone who was also cheating on them with someone else who was cheating on them (you get the picture).

Things definitely pinnacled during the scene in the kitchen. Who would've thought it was a midget! I thoroughly enjoyed R. Kelly's work in singing every character's lines (he sings on top of the characters mouthing their lines). My favorite is when he sings Bridget's lines with her southern accent. That couldn't have been more hilarious.

R. Kelly is a poetry master. Here's my favorite line (uncensored):

He says "Move", she says "No", he says "Move", she says "No", "BITCH MOVE!" SHE MOVES!

So after 12 chapters, here we are:

TrappedintheCloset2

After my last update (LINK), we've added "Big Man" the midget and some new connections have developed. And, after watching the credits scroll, R. Kelly steps in and tells us to not forget about Roxanne and Tina. And now we're waiting for the next 20 chapters.

So, go and check this out as soon as you can. You won't be (too) disappointed!

What's on your wallpaper ?

I don't know about you, but I change the wallpaper on my computer all the time. Right now, I have a picture of the Orion Nebula (space nerd) that was recently taken from the Hubble Telescope. Pretty cool, huh? The best part about it is that you can download the 18000 x 18000 image (the image below is only 460 x 353). The file is 385 MB! There's even a warning page for the download. It's coming !

That's right. After having it on the Netflix queue for over 11 weeks, it's finally coming. Joanne, it looks like I know what we'll be doing tomorrow night!

I'll be reporting on it soon.
"He walks up to the closet. He’s close up to the closet. Now he’s at the closet. Now he’s opening the closet."

They're onto me !

Went to Burger King this past weekend and noticed something new at their soda fountain. Suicide recipes! Interesting that I just posted about this topic a few weeks ago.

Four Way? Sounds pretty much like my Dr. Sproke! I should trademark the name. If they start publishing my Necco Wafer drink, I'll know they're onto me.

Bunny Star Wars

If you remember the 30-second bunny movies (from my 9/7 blog entry), they've just released two new movies, A Christmas Story and STAR WARS! Still not as funny as Titanic, but very entertaining nonetheless.

Happy Birthday, Dad !

Tonight we went out to dinner to celebrate Dad's 60th Birthday. He's not necessarily too happy about turning 60, but we'll make it all worthwhile when we go to Vegas this weekend.

Kobe vs. Shaq

Boy am I lucky. I went to the ever-famous Kobe vs. Shaq game last night. Miami Heat vs. LA Lakers. What a game!

Of course, I used my now usual process for getting my telephoto lens into the Staples Center. No problem. Spent some time up in the AmEx Platinum Lounge for the first quarter of the game. The lady told me the lens wasn't allowed and that I have to check it in. So, I went down to the premier level with Joel to meet with Tim and Tony. What awesome seats!

If you haven't heard already, Kobe and Shaq shared a special moment center court before the game started. They finally made up. Awww...

Kobe and Shaq hug.

I was able to get some great shots from our seats. Check them out!

Our 18 year old rookie, Andrew Bynum, was defending Shaq through part of the game. Bynum dunked over Shaq and Shaq came back with a flagrant foul. They got two technicals!
Before the conflict...Bynum and Shaq
It was a great, violent game. There were at least 5 technical fouls. Pat Riley, the Heat's coach, got one. Brian Cook had two of them and got ejected from the game.

Hot Dog Eating Contest

No, it's not the 4th of July and this is not the official Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest. It was the first ever 7 Card Studs Hot Dog Eating Contest! Apparently Daniel found a deal on some hot dogs, so we opted to have those as our pre-poker game meal. Instead of just having a few leisurely dogs, it developed into a hot dog eating contest.

Time to grill 'em up!

In the spirit of the Nathan's 4th of July contest, we decided on a 12-minute event to see who could eat the most hot dogs (with buns). Same rules applied including the "No reversals of fortune" rule. Check out the dogs:

Don't those look yummy?

Here are some photos of the intense competition:

Daniel-san is focused.Victory!
One half at a time.Kobayashi was getting serious.

Here are the final results:
Kevin - 8.0 hot dogs
Daniel - 7.5 hot dogs
Glenn - 7.0 hot dogs
Russell - 6.5 hot dogs

As expected, Kevin "Kobayashi" (His real last name) took first place. He was in the lead the entire competition. He even slowed up at the end. We were all a half dog apart. I took last place, but I was still impressed that I was able to put down 6.5 (and I finished the last half of the hot dog after the 12 minutes). Overall, we ate 29 hot dogs!

The Contenders.

We definitely have even more appreciation for Kobayashi's world record of 53 1/2 hot dogs now. For more hot dog fun, here's my blog entry from the 4th of July competition. (LINK)

LA Auto Show Day 2

If you know me well enough, you know that I always go to the LA Auto Show twice each year. Surprisingly, Joanne didn't go with me the second time. This time I met up with Eddy and Jeff...and even had dinner with Stephanie beforehand! Didn't get to the show until 8:30pm. Look what we saw in an hour and a half:

Porsche Cayman S. Very nice.

All done. Can't wait til next year. I doubled the amount of pictures in the photo set. Here's all 124 of them. (LINK)

LA Auto Show

Went to check out the LA Auto Show on Friday with Joanne and Jimmy. Here are some highlights:

There were several trucks at the show that closely resembled some toys I had as a child. This is the Jeep Hurricane. Tonka truck, anyone?
